Aspects of Health
If someone asks if you are healthy, they are probably asking about the vitality of your body. Do you feel strong and have plenty of energy? Are you eating right and getting enough exercise and sleep? Do you have a disease? From my perspective, there are multiple aspects to health. Living a balanced and optimally joyous and successful life involves all of them.
The six facets of health include:
- Physical health – Healthy body
- Mental health – Healthy thoughts
- Emotional health – Healthy feelings
- Spiritual health – Healthy connection to your intuition, God or spirit
- Relationships health – Healthy relationships with other people, friends, family, spouse, etc.
- Sexual health – Healthy sex and intimate life
These six facets are all intertwined and each contributes to your experience of living an optimal life.
Physical Health
You take good care of your body, it feels strong. You sleep well at night and have plenty of energy to accomplish life’s tasks without having to take stimulants.

Mental Health
With the abundance of vitality that you feel, your mind is clear and your thoughts are productive. You are creative, forward thinking and mentally positive.

Emotional Health
You experience a full range of emotions, both positive and negative, as you react to life’s events. You feel and express them and, by doing so, they subside. You use a full range of emotions to guide your choices and to create more of what you want in life. It is easy to feel good.

Spiritual Health
You have a sense of your intuition, your inner knowing. You have access to peacefulness and calm and are able to forgive yourself and others. You readily trust that life will bring you goodness. If you have spiritual inclinations or a religious affiliation, you have a sense of divine grace in your life.

Relationship Health
It feels easy to be patient and caring with people and you bring your “best self” and natural generosity to your relationships. The way you interact with people is “win/win.” You have the stamina to resolve conflict and create a more positive experience.

Sexual Health
You enjoy the richness, depth, intimacy and vitality of your sexuality, whether you are coupled or single.
